RACHEL RETURNS TO NICOLLE'S "BEST PEOPLE" PODCAST |
FAKE A.I. GARBAGE RUN AMOK |
What is the deal these YouTube accounts full of fake A.I. of Rachel Maddow's voice talking about Russia and Ukraine (mostly)? We have no idea, but they spring up like mushrooms as quickly as YouTube takes them down. They don't seem to be malicious toward Rachel, which would seem to point to them having either propaganda value or just a spam-money ploy. It's not even clear if they're part of a single campaign or multiple operators. Some of them try to evade intellectual property rules by adding a disclaimer somewhere that explains that it's not really Rachel, but that doesn't make it any less confusing for most people who run into them. The good news is that all of the real Rachel Maddow YouTube video that comes from us is under the MS NOW umbrella account.
Obviously when she is on another show, or speaking at another organization's event, that's going to be a different account, but as a general rule, if you're unsure about a video you're looking at and the account name is not MS NOW, proceed with caution. |
