This week, House Democrats revealed evidence that former President Donald Trump's businesses received $7.8 million in payments from foreign governments during a two-year span of his presidency. The payments came from at least 20 countries, including China, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates and Kuwait. China was the leading spender, according to the lawmakers. The revelations are especially damaging given the false accusations that Republicans push about Biden.
The names of over 150 people tied to a Jeffrey Epstein lawsuit filed back in 2015 began to be unsealed in batches, breathing new life into theories and speculation about the disgraced late financier. Harvard President Claudine Gay announced that she is resigning, amid controversy over her testimony at a congressional hearing on campus antisemitism and subsequent allegations of plagiarism.
Trump appealed the rulings in Colorado and Maine that found he's ineligible for the 2024 primary ballot and later petitioned the U.S. Supreme Court to take up his appeal of the Colorado decision. On Friday, the justices agreed to take up Colorado's 14th Amendment ruling, setting the stage for a nationwide resolution on Trump's ballot eligibility.
