Subject: We don't need the "most pro-gun, pro-Second Amendment president" back in the White House
Reply-To: brady@bradyunited.org
Former President Donald Trump won the Iowa caucuses last night, a victory he shares with the gun lobby as the self-proclaimed "most pro-gun, pro-Second Amendment president." We can't afford to let a leader like that back in the White House and we need to know whose side you're on immediately if we're going to fight to keep gun safety champions in office:
FRIEND, DO YOU SUPPORT DONALD TRUMP?

Friend,
Last night, Donald Trump declared victory at the Iowa caucuses, making him the official frontrunner for the Republican Presidential ticket.
While I can't say I am surprised by Trump's victory in Iowa, I continue to be shocked by how callously he can address gun violence in our nation.
It was in the same state, less than two weeks ago, that a gunman opened fire on Perry High School, killing an 11-year-old and injuring six others. The school's principal died over the weekend from injuries he sustained trying to protect his students.
Trump's response? "[We] have to get over it."
Friend, Perry cannot simply "get over" the tragedy that befell their small community, nor can our nation "get over" this epidemic that affects it every single day.
But it is possible to address the failures that led to tragedy and stop the next one from happening. It is possible to overcome gun lobby obstruction and implement proven-effective solutions to finally free America from gun violence, but it will take a leader who knows what it means to be dedicated to the fight to save lives, who cares for survivors and communities affected by gun violence.
Donald Trump is not that leader – quite the opposite, he's the gun lobby's dream politician. At the NRA's annual meeting last year, Trump touted his pro-gun presidency: "I was proud to be the most pro-gun, pro-Second Amendment president you've ever had in the White House," and promised to uphold the same legacy if elected in 2024.
Donald Trump's victory in Iowa yesterday is also a victory for the gun lobby, friend, but I want them to know that their deadly agenda is not shared by the majority of Americans. Can you respond to Brady's urgent poll now and let us know where you stand?

Thank you for taking action, friend.
