VIEW IN BROWSER MSNBC DAILY Understand today's news VIEW IN BROWSER MSNBC DAILY Understand today's news Sunday, August 06, 2023 IN CASE YOU MISSED IT On Tuesday, a federal grand jury voted to indict Donald Trump in special counsel Jack Smith's investigation into 2020 election interference and Jan. 6, 2021. He faces four counts, including conspiracy to defraud the United States and conspiracy to obstruct an official proceeding. (Read a full annotated version of the indictment here.) This is the former president's second federal indictment and his third criminal indictment overall; however, many believe this indictment is the most significant and consequential. On Thursday, Trump was arraigned in a federal courthouse in Washington by a magistrate judge shortly after 4:20 p.m. ET. The proceeding lasted about 30 minutes. Former President Donald Trump pleaded not guilty to all four counts, including conspiracy to defraud the United States and conspiracy to violate civil rights.    Missed something? Don't worry.
