Last night, Donald Trump announced he's running for president again, and Jim Downie asks, "Are we really doing this again?" Unfortunately, the answer is yes. Which means, Downie writes, that we should brace ourselves for Trump "trotting out the same old trash," including his "flagrant profiteering, outright buffoonery and contemptuous prejudice."
Trump's announcement comes as many members of the Republican Party have their knives out for him, but some fraction of them always has, Downie argues. And just because party leaders are ready to be done with him, that doesn't mean that sentiment is shared by a majority of Republican voters.
